This has been a special week for me. I have had the opportunity to share a little of what I know with these fifty men who are preparing for the ministry. Some of them are already pastoring churches and are now receiving some much needed training. Others are just starting out in the ministry having responded to God's call and are eager to start a life-long journey of service to the Lord.
I jokingly called one of the men "Billy Graham." He has a voice to die for and an enthusiasm and flair for sharing God's word that was evident to all of the students. He told me at the end of the day that He was certainly not Billy Graham. But then he said, "But I pray I might become the Billy Graham of India." I loved his attitude and I pray his prayers are fulfilled.
At the end of the day one of them was sharing how much the week meant to them. He said that the one thing they really needed was some teaching I gave on relationships during our study of the Song of Solomon.
I am so thankful for Pastor Jaison and all that he did for me this week. He puts in a lot of time and effort making sure that the students and teachers are taken care of during the ten weeks of training.
I was humbled once again this afternoon as the men presented me with a parting gift and then they sang "May the Lord God Be With You." It was a great way to end the week.
Now on Saturday its off to Mumbai for yet another week.
