"Special Ears"

(Sorry about the video being "private." I have corrected that.)
Thursday was a special day for our family. Our grand-daughter Harper went to Children's Hospital in Little Rock to be fitted with hearing aids. She has hearing loss stemming from her stay in the NICU when she was born. Harper's mom prepared her for the day by telling her that she was going to be getting some "special ears." I can't say enough about Harper's audiologist. I'm aware that she spends everyday working with children and has no doubt treated thousands of similar patients. But you would have thought that Harper was the only patient she ever had. So thankful for her care and compassion - and expertise!
I made this video of Harper and her doctor singing right after she got her "special ears." I think Harper was overwhelmed by all the sounds she was hearing. (Especially all of us making so much noise.)

Pray for our daughter Kelly and son-in-law Scott as they seek to help Harper adjust to her "special ears."
By the way, this little one didn't know what to think of the whole deal:

Just thought you would want to know... when I tried to play the video, Youtube said it was marked "private." Have a great evening, and I'm thinking of Harper, Kelly, and Scott.

That video is so precious. I'm thankful for the wonderful care she was able to receive there, and I'll be praying that she quickly adjusts to her special ears.

That was a great video Steve. You could see how she was listening so intently and hearing more than she's heard before when they were first put in and the therapist sang Jesus Loves Me. It was a priceless moment. It will take lots of time and patience. Loved It!

Great video Pastor Steve. Kelly linked us up with your blog and it was a blessing to hear this sweet lady sing about Jesus with Harper. the first name she heard with her new ears was Jesus. It just got me thinking about those who will not hear on this earth and how they will hear Jesus' name in Heaven make me weep.

So precious. Harper is just gorgeous. Praying that she has a newfound love for her "new ears" soon. Your daughter is such an amazing mom and an inspiration to many. =) I have followed her blog since before she had Harper. Her strength and faith in God were both such an inspiration to me. She must have some really amazing parents herself. =) God bless!!!

Hi Pastor Steve, I popped over from Kelly's blog to see that sweet video of Harper and her "special ears". I know the tears were flowing in that Dr.'s office, 'cause they sure are here.I hope Kelly can convince Harper to wear her hearing aids. Not an easy job to get a 2 year old to do anything. Bless her heart. Or I should say, Bless THEIR hearts.
As always, Keeping Harper in my heart in Ga.
Donna

I loved the video, thanks for sharing. My brother is 85% deaf in both ears and got hearing aids at the age of 3, I was 4 so this video really brought home what it must have meant to my parents and brother when he received his. Thank you.
